Hello! I’m Abby, a first year Computer Science PhD student at the University of Notre Dame in the Computer Vision Research Lab (CVRL), advised by Dr. Walter Scheirer. During my undergraduate career, I worked with Dr. Terry Boult in the Vision and Security Technology (VAST) lab at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. My research interests lie in using machine learning to solve computer vision problems and open set recognition. Outside of research, I dabble in several other Computer Science topics; I try to spend a couple hours every week learning about something outside of my research realm.
Outside of my computer science interests, I am an avid reader, of pretty much whatever I can get my hands on. I’m interested in learning, no matter the subject. Other than that, I enjoy cooking, art, museums, and traveling.
